Add an as_number() function
Currently there is a as_string(node) function, allowing numbers to be converted to strings. I am looking for a way to do the oppositie: convert strings to numbers.
This would allow me to
1) create a multiplechoice field
2) set up the choices with numbers, eg a Fibonacci serie
3) add the selected value for a card (eg '3') to some other numeric fields and store the results in a formulatype field.
(Alternatively, it would also be fine if a multiplechoice field could be made 'numeric, as it now always is a string.)

I tried the as_number() function with a Multiple Choice field as parameter, but it does not seem to work. While there is no error shown, the field just lists the formula itself instead of the outcome of the formula

Thank you for your feedback. The as_number() function actually exists. Feel free to try it. (We are going to update the doc).
You are right that numeral strings should indeed be automatically converted to numbers. We will work on that.

Actually, if a string would be converted to a number automatically (if proven possible, ie if the string indeed contains a number like '13'), that would maybe even more easy in daily usage.
